Mr. Takehiro Nakamura, VP and Managing Director-5G Laboratory, NTT DOCOMO, Japan

Mr. Takehiro Nakamura joined NTT Laboratories in 1990. He is now VP and Managing Director of 5G Laboratory in NTT DOCOMO, Inc. Mr. Nakamura has been working for research and development of the W-CDMA, HSPA, LTE/LTE-Advanced and 5G technologies. He has been engaged in the standardization activities for the W-CDMA, HSPA, LTE/LTE-Advanced and 5G at ARIB in Japan since 1997. He is currently the leader of 2020 and Beyond Ad Hoc (20B AH) in ARIB and Acting Chairman of the Strategy & Planning Committee in 5G Mobile Communication Promotion Forum(5GMF) in Japan. He has been contributing to standardization activities in 3GPP since1999. He had contributed to 3GPP TSG-RAN as a vice chairman during March 2005 to March 2009 and as a chairman during April 2009 to March 2013.

 

Dr. Bruno Chatras, Senior Standardization Manager at Orange Labs Networks

 
Bruno CHATRAS is a senior standardization manager at Orange Labs Networks and a member of the Orange experts' community on Future Networks. He is the Chairman of the ETSI Technical Committee on Network Technologies (NTECH) and a Vice-Chairman of the ETSI Industry Specification Group on Network Functions Virtualisation (ETSI NFV). Bruno joined France Telecom / Orange in 1985, where he started his carrier by developing GSM standards. Since then he held several management positions within Orange, where he led the Intelligent networks R&D Unit and has been Vice-Chairman of the ETSI Technical Committee on NGN (TISPAN) and ITU-T Rapporteur for Intelligent Networks.

 

Dr. Mikko Uusitalo, Wireless Advanced Technologies Department Head, Nokia Bell Labs, Finland

 
Dr. Mikko Uusitalo is Head of Research Department Wireless Advanced Technologies at Nokia Bell Labs Finland. He obtained a M.Sc. (Eng.) and Dr.Tech. in 1993 and 1997 and a B.Sc. (Economics) in 2003, all from predecessors of Aalto University, i.e., Helsinki University of Technology and Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration. Mikko has been at Nokia since 2000 with various roles, including Principal Researcher and Head of International Cooperation at Nokia Research. Mikko is a founding member of the CELTIC EUREKA and WWRF, the latter one he chaired for 2004-2006. Mikko is a Senior Member of IEEE. Mikko has about 100 pending or granted patents.

 

Prof. Akihiro Nakao, 5GMF Network Architecture Chair and Professor, University of Tokyo, Japan

Prof. Dr. Akihiro NAKAO received B.S.(1991) in Physics, M.E.(1994) in Information Engineering from the University of Tokyo. He was at IBM Yamato Laboratory, Tokyo Research Laboratory, and IBM Texas Austin from 1994 till 2005. He received M.S.(2001) and Ph.D.(2005) in Computer Science from Princeton University. He is a full professor and also a department chair at Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies, the University. He has also been appointed by the Japanese government as a chairman of network architecture committee of the fifth generation mobile network promotion forum (5GMF) in Japan.
